Northeast Representative

Northeast Colorado Health Department

My name is Conner Gerken.  I was born and raised in Fort Morgan, Colorado.  I graduated from Fort Morgan High School in May of 2012.  I attended Colorado Mesa University in Grand Junction, Colorado and received my bachelor’s degree in biology in December of 2016. While attend school I worked numerous jobs in the healthcare field.  I worked at Eben-Ezer Lutheran Care Center in Brush as a CNA, Home Care of the Grand Valley in Grand Junction as a CNA, and at Community Hospital in Grand Junction as a surgical aide.  After graduating from CMU I worked as a service member for AmeriCorps doing after school science programs for children from low income households.  In June of 2017 I was hired as an Environmental Health Specialist at Northeastern Colorado Health Department and have now been there for almost 2 years.  I have served as the northeast representative for the CEHA board as an interim until I was voted in at the AEC in 2018.

Southeast Representative
Su Korbitz - ehdir@oterogov.org

Otero County Health Department

Su Korbitz was born and raised in southeastern Colorado where her love and appreciation for the area was nurtured by her family and the rich heritage they passed on to her over the generations. She attended Union College, Otero Junior College and received a Bachelor of Liberal Studies from Vancouver University in 2000. Over the years, Su has had the opportunity to serve the communities where she and her family lived by working in the fields of respiratory therapy, emergency medical technician, wildland fire fighting, and as a licensed K-6 teacher of reading and science.  She currently serves Otero and Crowley counties as the Environmental Health Director.  While at Otero County Health Department she has assisted with waste tire recycling, solid waste audits, retail food classes, inspections, emergency preparedness, public information officer and terrorism liaison officer. In her spare time Su enjoys exploring remote areas of the western United States with her husband, making beer, wine, soap and other hand crafts as well as raising birds and animals.  She truly enjoys her family of four children, their spouses, and 19 grandchildren, which light up her life. 

Metro Representative
Josh Skeggs, jskeggs@tchd.org

Tri-County Health Department

Josh started his journey into environmental health after graduating from the  Univeristy of Colorado Denver with a B.S. in Public Health in 2015. In order to give back to the community around his homestate of Colorado, Josh became an Environmental Health Specialist at Tri-County Health Department in 2016, where he primarily works within the consumer protection program. He was elected to the CEHA Metropolitan representative position in 2018.


West Slope Representative

City of Aspen - Environmental Health and Sustainability

I am a Senior Environmental Health Specialist with the City of Aspen. My primary role is to manage and develop policies for the Consumer Protection Program, which includes restaurant and child care inspections, plan reviews, and food-borne illness investigations. I was raised in Ohio and graduated with my Bachelor of Science in Zoology from the Ohio State University in 2011. I moved to Fort Collins, Colorado in 2012 where I earned my Master of Public Health at the Colorado School of Public Health. As a CEHA Board member, I aim to be a voice for the Western Slope and represent our unique needs and concerns. I enjoy living in Glenwood Springs with easy access to hiking, skiing, snowshoeing, some of my favorite weekend activities!
