CEHA Awards Nomination Criteria and Submission Info
MILTON M. MILLER AWARDCEHA's highest honor, presented to an outstanding Environmental Health Professional in a management position. Award History: Later he worked for Denver University where he established a school for sanitary science training. While there, he was involved with the Colorado Environmental Health Association (CEHA). At that time CEHA was called the Rocky Mountain Section of the National Association of Sanitarians. Mr. Miller was CEHA's fourth president in 1950. In 1954, he organized the first ever Annual Educational Conference. In the 50's, Mr. Miller was Editor of the Journal of Environmental health, at that time called the Sanitarian which was published by the National Association of Sanitarians now called NEHA. Mr. Miller also served on the NEHA Board of Directors. In 1957, NEHA recognized his long and distinguished career with the award of their highest honor, the Walter S. Mangold Award. A Nominee must:

| The Donkey Tail AWARDThe awards listed above are for the great environmental health achievements over the past year, or throughout a great career. However, not all great achievements are created the same, and some moments should be immortalized in fame! Those large blunder, goof-up, mess-up, blooper, gross, or otherwise regrettable circumstances that happen in the everyday life of an Environmental Health Professional need to be recognized! Now for those who were not at the AEC in Ft. Collins, and didn't get the opportunity to hear the amazing story of our illustrious septic man, who dropped his cellphone into a well-used septic tank. After "cleaning the tank" and fishing out the "Brown trout, or I mean Cell Phone" out of the tank, and to use it to this day, won the 2018 inaugural award. Now not all stories have to be fishing for "Brown Trout Cellphones" in septic tanks, but there are many other bloopers that have happened in Colorado in the past year, and those who have done it, need to be recognized for their achievement. So if you are one of those lucky high or low achievers, or know a coworker who did a great gaffe, that they would rather not have known to the public. Please nominate that individual, for the CEHA Donkey Tail Award! To be awarded the awardee must be a current CEHA member, and the best story, blooper, event, or blunder that is nominated shall be voted on and issued the illustrious award. |

Please note that the CEHA Board of Directors is limited to the review of the materials in the nomination packet as its sole source of information as measured against the listed criteria.
